1) Vata-Type Joint Pain (Sandhi Vata / Osteoarthritis)

Mechanism: Dryness → tissue depletion → cartilage wear → cracking.

Symptoms

  • Pain ↑ with movement

  • Cracking/popping

  • Dry stiff joints

  • Worse in cold weather

  • Thin/elderly/post-menopausal


Ayurvedic Medicines (With Dosage + Timing)

1. Yograj Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals (8–12 weeks)
2. Dashmool Kwath – 10–15 ml twice daily, empty stomach
3. Eranda Pak – 1–2 tsp at bedtime with warm water/milk
4. Bala-Ashwagandha Taila (external) – massage 15 min before bath, daily


Home Panchakarma (Timing)

  • Abhyanga with sesame oil7–8 am

  • Dashmool steam → immediately after oiling

  • Kati/Janu Bastievening 5–7 pm


Diet (Timing)

  • Warm breakfast within 1 hr of waking

  • No salads/juices after 4 pm

  • Take ghee → morning + evening



2) Pitta-Type Joint Pain (Inflamed, Autoimmune, Red-Hot)

Mechanism: Pitta heat → autoimmune inflammation → synovitis.

Symptoms

  • Burning, heat

  • Redness, swelling

  • Worse in summer / spicy food

  • RA-like features

  • Irritability, acidity


Ayurvedic Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Kaishor Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals
2. Guduchi Ghana / Giloy Satva – 500 mg twice daily, empty stomach
3. Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily, after meals
4. Punarnava Mandur – 2 tablets twice daily
5. Shatavari Ghee – 1 tsp at bedtime


Home Panchakarma (Timing)

  • Cold Takra Parisheka (buttermilk pour) → 12–3 pm

  • Cold neem water cloth → during flare

  • No steam, no heat


Diet (Timing)

  • Coconut water → 11 am

  • Coriander–fennel water → 6 pm

  • Always eat on time (never skip meals)



3) Kapha-Type Joint Pain (Puffy, Swollen, Sluggish)

Mechanism: Kapha + fluid retention + slow metabolism.

Symptoms

  • Morning stiffness

  • Puffiness

  • Heaviness

  • Weight gain

  • Worse in humidity


Ayurvedic Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Punarnavadi Kashayam – 15 ml twice daily, empty stomach
2. Rasnadi Guggulu – 1–2 tablets twice daily after meals
3. Trikatu Churna – ½ tsp before meals with warm water
4. Gandharva Haritaki – 1 tsp at bedtime


Home Panchakarma

  • Udvartana (dry powder massage)morning

  • Hot fomentation → after massage

  • Castor oil 1 tsp weeklyonce a week at night


Diet (Timing)

  • Light dinner before 7:30 pm

  • Warm water every 2 hours

  • Avoid day sleep



4) Aama-Type Joint Pain (Aamvata / RA-like)

Mechanism: Undigested toxins (Aama) block channels → inflammation.

Symptoms

  • Severe morning stiffness

  • Coated tongue

  • Gas, bloating

  • Pain after heavy/oily meals

  • Heavy body


Ayurvedic Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Simhanada Guggulu – 1 tablet 3× daily after meals
2. Trikatu Churna – ½ tsp before meals
3. Sootshekhar Ras – 1 tablet twice daily after food
4. Erand Pak – 1 tsp at night
5. Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml twice daily


Home Panchakarma

  • Dry heat therapyevening

  • Castor oil 1–2 tsp weeklynight

  • Ajwain steam → anytime


Diet (Timing)

  • Ginger water → 7 am

  • Lunch → 12:30–1:30 pm

  • No curd after 4 pm



5) Rakta-Type Joint Pain (Uric Acid / Gout / Blood Heat)

Mechanism: Rakta heat + poor liver detox → uric acid spikes.

Symptoms

  • Burning pain

  • Tenderness

  • Red-hot swollen joint

  • Night flare-ups

  • Linked to alcohol, meat, stress


Ayurvedic Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Kaishor Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily, after meals
2. Punarnava Mandur – 2 tablets twice daily
3. Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily
4. Guduchi Satva – 500 mg twice daily, empty stomach
5. Navayas Loha – 1 tablet twice daily


Home Panchakarma

  • Cold compression → during flare

  • Buttermilk fasting lunch2 days/week

  • Liver warm water → 7–8 am


Diet (Timing)

  • Amla → 7–8 am

  • Fennel-coriander drink → 3 pm

  • No food after 7 pm in flare periods



6) Majja-Type Joint Pain (Disc, Nerve, Bone-Marrow)

Mechanism: Majja dhatu depletion → nerve + disc degeneration.

Symptoms

  • Deep bone pain

  • Disc bulge, sciatica

  • Cracking

  • Anxiety + fatigue

  • Poor sleep


Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Ashwagandha Avaleha – 1 tbsp at bedtime
2. Trayodashang Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals
3. Maharasnadi Kwath – 15 ml twice daily, warm
4. Balarishta – 20 ml after lunch & dinner
5. Mahanarayan Taila – external, 20 min before bath


Home Panchakarma

  • Kati Basti5–7 pm

  • Warm oil steam → after abhyanga

  • Matra Bastimorning (if guided)


Diet (Timing)

  • Sun exposure → 7–10 am

  • Milk + ghee → 9 pm

  • Include dates at 4 pm



7) Asthi-Type Joint Pain (Bone Weakness, Osteopenia)

Mechanism: Asthi dhatu kshaya → bone porosity.

Symptoms

  • Bone pain (more than joint pain)

  • Hair fall

  • Nail weakness

  • Post-menopausal cases common


Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Lakshadi Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily, after meals
2. Praval Pishti – 250 mg twice daily with honey
3. Godanti Bhasma – 125 mg twice daily with ghee
4. Ashwagandha Churna – ½ tsp twice daily with warm milk


Home Panchakarma

  • Oil abhyangamorning

  • Mild steam → after oil

  • Anuvasana Basti → weekly


Diet (Timing)

  • Sesame seeds → 4 pm

  • Ragi → breakfast

  • Turmeric milk → 9 pm



8) Shotha-Type Joint Pain (Edema, Swelling, Lymphatic Stagnation)

Mechanism: Kapha + lymph blockage + kidney/liver sluggishness.

Symptoms

  • Puffy swelling

  • Ankles/knees heaviness

  • Worse with long sitting/standing

  • Water retention


Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Punarnavadi Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily
2. Punarnava Mandur – 2 tablets twice daily
3. Dashmoolarishta – 20 ml after meals
4. Guggulu Tiktaka Ghrita – ½ tsp morning, empty stomach


Home Panchakarma

  • Dry massage → morning

  • Hot foot bath7 pm

  • Walk 10–20 min after meals (3× daily)


Diet (Timing)

  • Reduce salt after sunset

  • No water after 9 pm

  • Warm meals for dinner



9) Srotorodha-Type Pain (Blocked Channels / Shifting Pain)

Mechanism: Aama + Kapha + Vata → obstruction → shifting pain.

Symptoms

  • Pain moves from joint to joint

  • Cramps

  • Constipation

  • Heaviness

  • Random flare patterns


Medicines (Dosage + Timing)

1. Gandharva Haritaki – 1 tsp at bedtime
2. Triphala – 1 tsp alternate nights
3. Trikatu – ½ tsp before meals
4. Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml twice daily


Home Panchakarma

  • Weekly bowel cleansing → castor oil night

  • Steam → evening

  • Oil massage → morning


Diet (Timing)

  • Light dinner before 7 pm

  • Ajwain water → 7 am

  • Avoid incompatible foods all day


UNIVERSAL HEALING ROUTINE (For All 9 Types)

Daily

  • Warm water → 6–7 am

  • Sunlight → 7–10 am

  • Mobility exercises → 10:30 am

  • Heavy lunch → 12–2 pm

  • Light dinner → 6–7 pm

  • Sleep → 10 pm
